My story begins and ends in Southwest Missouri. While in high school I was blessed to have excellent art teachers and to have a sister that inspired my artwork. This is when I began painting and hand carving. Georgiacarver is a business I started while spending 14 years living and enjoying, South Georgia. My wife and I started Chainsaw Carving about 10 years ago. A dear friend, Chap Nelson invited me to his home in Georgia and there I was introduced to the world of Chainsaw Carving. I have picked up my hand tools from time to time, but he power and speed of the chainsaw is addictive! My wife Kathy started carving shortly thereafter and the rest is history, as they say. Recently I have picked up the paint brush again and to my surprise I have not lost the ability to paint, even after 30 years of inactivity. I have retired from the “corporate” world and now enjoy art and the outdoors.
Please enjoy our website and the pictures of some of our work. Perhaps one day we will run into each other. Until then, Safe Carving!
