About Us

I am Greg Phillips and my wife Kathy and I started our journey in Southwest Missouri in Joplin and Lamar, 34 years ago.  Upon our graduation from the University of Missouri-Rolla with a Mechanical Engineering degree we left Missouri.  Now, 32 years later we have returned to the Lamar area and have retired to our farm.  Kathy is my best friend and my world, I am blessed to be able to have lived my life with her.  We have 3 +1 children and 3 grand children — we are so blessed.

For years I had a dream, or more of a vision, that I could find a farm, on a hill, overlooking a stream.  4 years ago when my son called and said “I found your dream” we were thrilled and shortly after we purchased the farm.  God has been good and he is faithful.

Every day now I can look out over the farm, watch the deer, turkey and other critters enjoy the bounty of God’s blessings.  I paint in watercolors and Kathy and I chainsaw carve.  I enjoy ham radio and you can find out more about that at, This spring we hope to establish a good garden and a chicken coop.

Please enjoy our website and the pictures of some of our work. Perhaps one day we will run into each other. Until then, Safe Carving!
